In 2019 I joined The Priestley Academy Trust as an Early Years Practitioner. At the time, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go in my career or whether I wanted to change career paths. However, the Trust completely changed my mindset. I was inspired by the high-quality teaching, which I observed and participated in daily and I found my love for education again. The whole ethos that surrounds and drives The Priestley Academy Trust reinforced my passion to make a difference in each and every single child’s life that entered the classroom doors.
In 2021 I was lucky enough to be offered an amazing opportunity to join the SCITT programme, in which I was able to observe, be mentored and supported by a highly experienced and passionate teachers. Throughout my studies I was able to receive support as Trust staff have the warmest and most welcoming approach. The SCITT programme was informative and throughout we received high-quality training, which we were then able to implement in our own practice. The support surrounding the SCITT programme was fantastic, training days were always well organised and the purpose of the training was clear. The SCITT provides experience in which university cannot provide, as it is hands-on and learning on the job. I would highly recommend SCITT.
