The Priestley Partnership consider it a privilege to develop future teachers who will shape our future world and is excited that you are considering us to train to teach in Bradford.
We aim to recruit 10 trainees on either a Primary 3-7 or 5-11 programme. Every person at the Trust matters to us and we will get to know you as an individual to ensure your training needs are met and that you are set up for one of the most rewarding careers.
The course allows a significant amount of practical training in the classroom alongside our talented staff. You will spend extensive time in two of our schools really learning the craft of teaching. This will be underpinned through the training programme delivered by Exceed SCITT which dovetails the theory with classroom teaching. You will have the opportunity to observe good and outstanding teaching throughout your placements with time for reflection on your own practice.
The programme is organised into six stages which gradually take you from building the foundations of planning and teaching, to being a competent and confident professional, reflective practitioner who is Early Career Teacher (ECT) ready.
Our unique programme focuses on the National Curriculum so that each trainee develops strong subject knowledge and teaching strategies to ensure pupil progress.
Another key strand of the programme is Professional Practice, such as effective behaviour management and understanding inclusion.
We also recognise that each trainee is an individual and we will ensure that the programme is bespoke to meet your needs as personal wellbeing is also very important to us.
